Description

C-Tec C4 En547 Optical Smoke Detector C4416 uses an infrared source of light and a Photodiode for detection. Light passes straight in front of the Photodiode when there is no smoke. Smoke particles scatter light in every direction when they enter the optical chamber, and some fall on the photodiode, causing the alarm.

To detect fires early, optical detectors are usually used near escape routes, in living rooms, bedrooms, and other enclosed areas. The optical detectors are especially effective in detecting fires that burn slowly (caused by electrical wiring overheating or burning materials).
